Our computer is doing some funny things these days...that's why I haven't been keeping up with the blog. I'm hesitant to write too much because I will most likely loose it before I post.
Here's what's basically going on with the Broome fam:
We moved to Macon, Georgia at the end of September- Fred is the middle school student pastor at Ingleside Baptist Church. We are loving it here! The entire transition process has been completely God-blessed. We sold our house in Evansville before putting it on the market (we love you, Ryan & Christine!)...we found a house after only one day of house-hunting and closed on it only a few days after moving (we got to stay in a family's pool house for those days--it was great!)...the kids love their new home, friends, and church family (Joshua talks about his church all the time!)...Fred & I are overwhelmed with both peace and excitement about where God has us serving!

Evansville Life
Well, Evansville life for the Broomes is quickly coming to an end. Fred is formally giving his resignation to the church this evening in the service (even though he already told the students last Sunday). We will finish up at First Southern on September 16th and move sometime during the following week. Fred's first day at Ingleside is the 24th. Needless to say, life is going to be a bit hectic for a while. We are really excited about the transition. We're pretty sure we sold the house here; we hope to get a purchase agreement signed this week. Fred, Anna Bell, my sister Laura, my dad, and I are going to drive to Macon this Thursday to look for a house there. It would be wonderful if it all worked out and we were able to move directly into our new home. If not, we'll just do the apartment thing for a while--we really don't mind that possibility except for the whole double move thing. Anyways...as I sit in Joshua's room and watch him play as I type, I'm reminded of the great things about our life here for the past two years that I'm sad to leave:
One of those things is this house. It's been a great first house for us. We love the neighborhood. I'm definitely sentimental when it comes to these kind of things. This is the first house that Joshua and Anna Bell have ever known. So many memories have been made here. I can look around and remember where Joshua took his first step or where Fred and I sat and prayed for Anna Bell during my pregnancy. It's a great place that we will always look back at with great thankfulness. We are so incredibly blessed.

Busy Summer Days

I'm sure that many of you guys can relate (especially those in the ministry!) to the craziness of summer. We have definitely been on the road more than we've been at home these past couple of months! Thankfully, the kids have been incredibly flexible and easy-going. I got to go with Fred and the students to camp a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast! My parents kept the kids(a 14 hour bus ride was a bit too much for them!) and although I missed them tons, I knew that they were better off with grandpa and grandma than roughin it at camp. Joshua was great--mom said that he never cried and that anytime he asked "where'd dada and mama go?" he would answer himself by saying "big bus!!!" So cute. Sweet Anna Bell had some kind of flu while we were gone-- she spiked a fever of 102 and did not sleep well at all...my dear mother had some definite sleepless nights! Although she was tired and would quickly admit that "she's not as young as she used to be" I think that it was a blessing for her to be able to spend those wee-hours rocking Anna Bell.
Fred & I continue to learn tons about God's provision and loving-kindness through kids and ministry...we are truly blessed beyond measure.

Believe It or Not!
Here we are inside Ripley's Aquarium at Myrtle Beach, SC. You know the idea, you stand on a track that guides you through a shark infested tank - and you pay for it. That's America at it's finest! Joshua really liked it! If you look closely, you can see a shark just toward the top of the picture. This trip was taken as we were on our annual Prosser family vacation. We are even sporting our totally awesome Prosser family vacation t-shirts!

Surrounded by Pink...

Well, we finished Anna's nursery a while back, and we thought you might want to see a glimpse of the most girly room in our house. This paint job required much time, labor, and love...but we think she will love it someday!
It's funny. I have spent most of my life running from the color pink. Nancy always tried to buy me at least one pink shirt every season. Lindsey thinks I would look "studly" in a cool pink shirt.
The truth is, guys, that we can't run forever. You may not know the day or the hour, but pink comes like a thief in the night. Be prepared, and never say never. You never know when you'll spend hours painting different shades of pink in your little girl's room.
I always hoped for a daughter. I prayed that having a daughter would teach me to be more sensitive. Well, let the games begin!
Seriously though, it's so wonderful to have Anna in our lives. It's difficult to think as I look at her that someday I'll have to give her away to another man (her husband). I guess I'd better go soon and buy some cool shotguns to display in our house so this unsuspecting young man can have a healthy fear of Anna's daddy.
God has truly blessed our family, and every day brings us more love and happiness than the day before.

what a little sweet pea!

I think that Anna Bell was about a week old when this pic was taken. She sure was a little bitty thing! As of last week, however, Anna weighed in at 10 pounds, 5 ounces! She's more than doubled her birth weight! She is such a precious little girl; we can already tell that God has placed in her a sweetness and tenderness that her big brother will most likely take advantage of:)...despite the occasional over-zealous "play" with his sweet little sister, we think that Joshua really has developed a bit of endearment towards Anna Bell. They're pretty fun to watch already! Joshua pats her on the belly and says "hi nanna" as Anna grins and looks at him with wide-eyed anticipation (we're not sure if it's out of adoration or simple fear...but it's cute anyway:)) They both are such a blessing. Fred and I are having a blast and learning tons too: oh, how deep the Father's love is for us, His children...every moment counts...and patience truly is a virtue!!!!
