I think that I shared in an earlier post that Fred's dad bought the kids swings for Christmas. We haven't invested in a swing set just yet, so for now, the tree in the front yard works great!
Over the weekend, my parents, Laura, Maddie Grace, and Ashley came to visit. We had soooo much fun! We celebrated Anna Bell's first birthday with cake and presents. Anna Bell seemed to like cake: she wasn't nearly as messy about it as her brother was!
(I'll try to post some pictures soon)
Joshua adores his cousin, Maddie. They act so silly together! It's so fun to watch. Joshua tries to do everything that Maddie does, which is mostly a good thing. However, one thing that I'm kind of bummed that Joshua picked up from his big cousin is that he decided/realized that he could climb out of his crib! Stink! I thought that MAYBE he'd forget once they all left, but nope: yesterday when it was time for his nap, he climbed out twice. Finally, he slept in his big bed, but only for about 50 minutes. Since nap time is for 2 hours at the Broome house, this was not so great. We've decided that the standard/rule is going to be that there will be consequences for getting out of bed without mommy or daddy, which is working well so far. If any of ya'll have any wisdom to share about this transition, we'd love to hear it!

Just be consistent. You're doing a GREAT job. He'll learn. We did the same thing with Areyna, even when she was being super cute and said she just wanted to "cuddle" we had to give her consequences. She does good now=) I cannot believe that AnnaBell is 1!!!
I love these pictures.... Anna Bell is so cute! Happy Birthday! Our Anna turns one on Feb. 1st. Did you just do a family party? I can't decide what to do cause we still don't know people that well yet here and a fam. party would be easier. Hmmmm... about the bed we've been putting that off and Ellie doesn't try and get out of it. However, I would put one of those things on the door where he cannot get out and have consequences like you mentioned. Have a great day!
Isn't God awesome after all the worries about Anna, she was always perfect and still is.
When Ella moved to her big girl bed we had to use "consequences" to keep her in her bed until we got her...we just had to stay consistent with it and w/in 3 days we haven't had any more issues with it. I love it now b/c when we travel we can just set up a sleeping bag or pallet on the floor and she doesn't get out...no more lugging the pac n' play =) Don't worry...he'll get it!
AnnaBell is too cute! I can't believe she is already 1, wow!
Anna Bell looks just as pretty as she is sweet!!
Ellie said, "Anna Bell is a big girl!" Then she said, "Is Joshua still far away? I want to go to his house one day. You can drive me to their house!" We all say, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNA!"
She can't be 1! Then again, Josiah can't be 7 months! Soomewhere between feedings, diapers, naps, cuddles, kisses, and giggles the time flys by! I miss you guys; we need to plan a get-together. Oh, and I love your laundry shelves!
