These pictures are a little fuzzy for some reason, but here are our "new" cabinets!!! I'm going to have to look through pictures on our old computer and find some before pics- but I love the difference. It's amazing what $40 of gel stain and $75 of new hardware will do! I still need to touch up a couple of places and add a coat or two of polyurethane (sp?). Does anyone have any experience with that? The stuff seems so runny- I'm afraid I'm gonna mess them up by leaving drips all over the place. I'd love some tips, if you have em!

beautiful!!! and I love the bathroom pic!
they're looking great!
The cabinets look awesome! What kind of stain did you use? You're kitchen is just beautiful-didn't you lay the tile floors as well?
Thanks, guys!
Melanie-
We used a gel stain. I think that the color is spanish oak. It is pretty much black, but with the wood showing through a bit, it looks really dark brown on the cabinets. It was a fairly easy process (as far as refinishing goes!). Sanding/priming is not necessary. We just cleaned them really well and then used old socks to rub the stain on. The annoying part is that because it's a stain, it took forever to dry-- which makes it a little tricky with little hands in the house:) Yes, Fred did the flooring about a year ago. Next on the list is counters/backsplash! Always something, right?!?
Rent a sprayer for the poly...you'll be glad you did
lindz it looks fabulous!! i am very impressed.
Holy Cow!!! When in the world did you find time to make your kitchen look so awesome! Can't wait to see it in person=) The curtains look GREAT too!
